John McNelis matched a season-high three points in the Herd's win
Sioux Falls 7, NTDP U18s 3
The Sioux Falls Stampede topped the NTDP U18s in the only USHL game on Thursday that wasn't postponed due to weather. Sioux Falls came back from a 3-1 deficit to score six straight goals, with five players contributing multi-point efforts. John McNelis (2024) matched a season-high three points (2-1-3), scoring two goals in the second period.
Beckett Hendrickson (BOS) opened the scoring at the 6:13 mark of the first period, extending his goal streak to four games. However, Team USA scored three straight goals to close out the period, including Cole Eiserman's (2024) 30th NTDP goal of the year on a beautiful assist from James Hagens (2025).
In the second period, Sioux Falls came back strong with Artur Cholach scoring on a puck that trickled through NTDP netminder Nick Kempf’s legs for only his second goal of the season. Tyler Borgula (2024) tied the game with a one-timer off a cross-ice feed from Hayden Reid (2024).
McNelis scored the first of his two goals at the 13:46 mark of the second period, turning a 3-1 deficit into a 4-3 lead. McNelis added his second with under a minute left in the frame.
Sioux Falls added on in the third period, with Reid scoring his fourth at the 12:36 mark and Will McDonough scoring his sixth goal of the year on the power play. Team USA scored one more goal with less than a minute left in regulation on Austin Baker’s (2024) 11th NTDP goal of the year.
Michael Chambre made 26 saves on 30 shots on goal, earning his 11th win of the year.
