Mac Swanson Breaks Two Records In Fargo’s Win
Mac Swanson (2024) tallied his fourth consecutive multi-point game, tallying one goal and two assists in Fargo’s lopsided 6-1 win over Waterloo. The North Dakota collected the primary assist on Masun Fleece’s goal, establishing a new franchise record for most points (71) and assists (47) in a single season. Jackson Nevers opened the scoring for the visiting Black Hawks at the 9:42 mark of the first period. However, Fargo scored six unanswered to close out the game. Fleece, Swanson, Zam Plante, Jake Fisher (x2), and Lee Parks all found the back of the net. Hampton Slukynsky (LAK) turned aside 31 of 32. With Dubuque falling in a shootout, the Fargo Force clinched their second consecutive Anderson Cup Trophy.
Five Skaters Score In Win For Tri-City
The Tri-City Storm scored five times in the second period en route to a 6-2 win over the Omaha Lancers. Owen Beckner at the 7:54 mark of the first period. Trevor Connelly scored on the breakaway early in the second period. Jake Rozzi followed 32 seconds later with the first of his two goals on the night. Nick Pierre responded with his 21st goal of the season for Omaha. However, Tri-City tacked on three more goals in the frame, including Cooper Simspon’s fourth off a backhanded feed from AJ Lacroix. Sam Scheetz tallied his sixth goal of the year in the third period for the Lancers and now has points in seven of ten games since returning from Minnetonka High School. Cameron Korpi collected his 25th win of the season for Tri-City, stopping 25 of 27 shots on goal.
Madison Clinches Playoff Spot With OT Win
Andrew Kuzma scored the overtime winner with two seconds remaining in the extra session to lift the Madison Capitols over the Youngstown Phantoms on Friday night, 4-3. Youngstown jumped out to a 3-1 lead midway through the third period, with goals from Andrew Strathmann, Grant Young, and Ryan Botterill. With the net empty and the extra attacker on the ice, Madison scored twice in the final 45 seconds from Max Nagel and Shawn Ramsey to force overtime. Patriks Berzins stopped 40 of 43 in the win for the Caps. Madison officially clinched a spot in the Clark Cup Playoffs with the win. Youngstown also punched their ticket to the postseason.
Noah Powell Breaks Dubuque Scoring Record In Loss
The Fighting Saints roared back from a 3-1 deficit but ultimately fell in the shootout to the NTDP U18s. Noah Powell tallied his third hat trick of the season and, in doing so, established a new Dubuque record for most goals (38) in a single season. Will Skahan and James Hagens scored just 19 seconds apart for Team USA in the first period. Juraj Pekarcik responded for the Saints at the 1:11 mark of the second period. However, L.J. Mooney restored the two-goal lead just 42 seconds later. Powell scored back-to-back goals to close out the frame. Into the third, Brendan McMorrow made it a 4-3 advantage for the U18s. However, Powell tied it up in front. After initially fanning on his first attempt, the Ohio State commit made good on his second chance. Max Plante provided the lone goal between either team in the shootout.
DeAngelo Lifts Gamblers With Late Goal
Mikey DeAngelo wired a shot from the high slot through traffic and into the back of the net with 8.9 seconds left in regulation to lift Green Bay to a 5-4 win over the Chicago Steel. Ryan Humphrey opened the scoring for the Gamblers with his ninth goal. Chicago responded with two goals late in the first period, coming from Mick Thompson and Michael Emerson. Green Bay took the lead early in the second period on Blake Bechen’s 21st goal of the year. The Steel regained the lead early in the third period on Thompson’s second of the night. Geno Carcone knotted the game at four goals apiece at the midway point of the frame.
Lincoln Rolls Past Sioux Falls
The Lincoln Stars earned a much-needed win over the Sioux Falls Stampede. Lincoln jumped out to a commanding 5-0 lead in the second period. Martin Misa and Justin Mexico provided the scoring in the opening 20 minutes before Jack Pechar, Ryan Spinale, and German Yavash added three more in the middle frame. Tyler Borgula ended Yan Shostak’s shutout late in the third period on his 21st of the season.
Gridin, Boisvert Score Again In Jacks Win
The Muskegon Lumberjacks won their fourth straight game behind a 4-1 score against Cedar Rapids. Matvei Gridin opened the scoring with his 34th of the year and now has goals in his last four games. The Jacks made it a three-goal lead in the second period with goals from Sacha Boisvert and Ty Henricks. Haeden Ellis got Cedar Rapids on the board late in regulation on his first career USHL goal. Justin Solovey restored Muskegon’s three-goal lead via the empty-netter. Shikhabutdin Gadzhiev picked up his 15th win of the season, stopping 31 of 32.
Musketeers Score Five Unanswered In Win
The Sioux City Musketeers scored five unanswered goals to close out the game in a 5-1 win over the visiting Des Moines Buccaneers on Friday. Ilya Protas opened the scoring for the Bucs on his 14th of the season. Sioux City’s Brian Nicholas tied the game just over three minutes later via his 17th of the year. The Muskies would score twice in the second and third periods, with goals coming from Colin Kessler, Justin Stupka, Gavin Garry, and Ty Hanson. Samuel Urban stopped 28 of 29 in the win.
